5 MAJOR THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN TAKING CPA BOARD EXAMS

Posted by accountantblogger on Tuesday, December 10, 2013

If you are preparing to take the Licensure Examinations for Certified Public Accountants, make sure you have consider these ten things: These things will help you to succeed in becoming a licensed CPA.

1. Review School
You should enrolled in any best performing CPA review school (Check this link for recommended review schools). If you're undergrad college or university had good passing rates and you have good scholastic records, you may enroll in review school not offering "back to zero knowledge" program. If you think that you need to refresh some of the major areas of accounting, then enroll in a review school giving "back to zero knowledge". Self-review is not good enough because there are some updates on the coverage of CPA board that you might not know and only review schools are aware of these.

2. Study Area
Living in a dormitory or boarding house? Make sure you have good study area there keeping in mind that environment greatly affect your review. The best advise is share room with co-reviewees not with undergrad students. The study activities of undergrads are different from yours.

3. Diet and Rest
You have to supply your body with good diet and rest. Don't compromise these.

4. Review Materials
Although review schools are giving handouts, you need to have at least one good reviewer book and one textbook (your undergrad textbook,if you have) for every subjects given in CPA Boards. Don't buy all the reviewer books because these tends you to cram and disorganized. I disagree to those who said that "the more review materials you have, the more chances of passing".

5. Time Management
Have a planned time management. At first, make a list of your review schedules and your home study for every subjects. Make sure you allotted one day break. Full attention on reviewing topics should be made. Don't make breaks on studying one topic per subject. Its hard to regain full attention. Complete it thoroughly per topic. Devote more time on topics that you find hard for you to understand. Love your most hated topics!
